Risk Management

The International Programs Office registers and tracks students abroad for the purposes of safety and risk management; therefore , students participating in education abroad programs are required to follow all University of Tampa policies and procedures for international travel, including, but not limited to, enrollment in international health insurance, completion of pre-departure instruction and completion of health and liability forms.  The risks and considerations associated with traveling to various international destinations vary depending on the destination, activity and traveler(s) involved. The International Programs Office monitors country travel advisories and/or public announcements set forth by the U.S. Department of State (and other agencies, e.g., the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). If a level 3 or 4 advisory is in effect during the planning phase or for the date of intended travel, the education abroad program cannot be approved. Additionally, program cancellation can occur prior to, or during the travel period if there is found to be substantial risk to the traveler.
